Architectural Technologist

About the Role

We are currently seeking for Architectural Technologists (BCIN preferred) for the positions mainly focused on small residential, timber houses. The applicants must be familiar with Ontario Building Code Part 9 and special requirements for timber houses. Being familiar with planning approval process including zoning review and building permit submissions is a requirement for this role.

Requirements

• Must be proficient working on Revit and AutoCad and working on complete set of architectural drawings.
• BCIN designer is a preference; with a knowledge of small buildings, houses and a working experience of min. 2 years.
• Design alterations, legal basements and custom houses as per Ontario Building Code and making a submission to the city. Handling revisions from the city.
• Familiar with the municipal planning procedures from Zoning review, CoA, and building permits to the final approvals.
• Dealing with clients, taking care of the owner revisions and making submission to the city.
• Working on wide range of projects from second storey addition, basement designs, custom house designs to commercial design projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Education with a College Diploma in Architecture. Must have working knowledge of OBC, part 9 and an industry experience.
• Creating architectural drawings on Revit and AutoCad.
• Working 8 hours day. Work from Home setting with daily site visits.
• Experience in the measurements of the existing conditions and the existing plans preparation.
• Creating floor plans, section details and elevation drawings of the basement projects.
• Reviewing drawings for conformity and errors. Prepare working drawings.
